The Vishnuprayag Hydroelectric Project is a carbon reduction project of Cargill, Inc.'s subsidiary, Green Hercules Trading. Vishnuprayag harnesses the waters of the Alakanda River to generate clean energy—rather than energy from fossil fuels—for the homes and businesses in the state of Uttaranchal, and provides the ability to generate high-quality carbon offset credits.
The project invigorated the region with new roads, jobs and medical services, while also protecting the region's biodiversity. Cargill needed a way to communicate the story of Vishnuprayag to investors. Using rich, cultural imagery we designed an 8-page printed brochure and supporting web pages on Cargill's site. A small amount of brochures were printed, while an electronic version is available for download on the web.
